The high price of land has forced even the well-off to squeeze up; townsfolk are increasingly eager to acquire their own plot, which means multi-tiered gardens are all the rage. Viewed from the sun-facing side, they resemble artificial hills with sections divided into tiers, each of which is umbrellaed by a transparent dome. Each plot is assigned to a luxury apartment, the bulk of which is located inside the hill. Plot owners can adjust the climate from Arctic to equatorial. So as not to spoil the magnificent views afforded by the plots, entrances, parking, and communications are all handled on the opposite side, which takes the form of a semi-circular glass facade behind which lie garages and office premises.
