Humans can go into hibernation

The Psychological and physiological issues facing long-term space flight are resolved, the same is true for life-sustaining measures in an emergency, when professional medical assistance cannot be provided quickly.

A state wherethe body of a living being preserves its vital functions with the slowing down or even suspension of life processes, and most importantly – the possibility to come back from this condition – is called suspended animation. Now a person can be in a state of induced hibernation, or suspended animation as long as necessary.

To achieve this, the body is cooled and drained of its blood which is subsequently replaced with chilled saline solution.

Eduardo Ernesto Granillo Aragón Pienso que no es posible, los médicos aun no logran controlar al 100% la anestesia, todavía surgen errores mortales, mucho menos podrán controlar la hibernación humana, cual es el porcentaje de retorno..??

Geronimo Perez Suspended animation implies that humans would have to disregard the motion of time. They stay suspended as everything, including culture, loved ones and war, continues. I can't see that being something enjoyable, as the world changes around you and you are left to adapt. The only reason which I could see is already under use, which is in order to stay alive until certain illnesses can be cured.

Suemy Garcilazo Diaz I agree I think this idea will be really important for us since human hibernation generates a lower production of free radicals and therefore less damage and this is important in some diseases. But I consider it important to take into account the factors of damage and risks so that you can be more calm

cold frost as soon as we get this tech/science we will be able to go on long trips to other planets like mars more efficiently and have more people on a rocket at once. a trip would feel like a second to you rather than months or years.

Rachell I'd like to think we could become 'humansicles' adapting to the wood frog that can stay frozen but still alive. It's something that happens in the natural biology of this cute lil frog during winter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLPeehsXAr4

Demonic I do not fully endorse this idea for it could help with crime. like when the blood is removed, it can be stolen and when they are in a hibernation mode if cut or injured the saline solution might not help heal wounds.
