Since the beginning of space exploration, tons of garbage have been threatening satellite communications and even sunlight penetration.
In 2050, there is a whole infrastructure of stations in earth orbit for collecting, sorting and recycling defunct satellites and their debris. Space garbage trucks detect debris in the space nearby, collect them and bring them to the station. After being sorted, the debris is burnt in the upper atmosphere or recycled on the stations or on earth.
