Rapid population growth has accelerated the development of public transport. By 2030 the number of stations reached 197, the length with the three, newly-added lines was 421 km. Existing lines were continued in accordance with expanding city limits and the new ones - blue, gold and purple - made it possible to even incorporate Palm Islands into the underground system, a challenging task due to the location’s artificial origins.
