By early 2050, Rabat Column is the tallest skyscraper in the world. It can be seen from Tangiers to Gibraltar. Its unusual height inspired engineers to forgo a typical elevator system for a vertical high-speed monorail along the exterior of the building, connecting with a public transportation network below and with a rocket-drone pad at the top. Residents and visitors of the Column can quickly reach any part of the Moroccan capital even from the top, above-cloud floors of the skyscraper, and all that without any transfers.
The size of the Column is also used to increase energy efficiency: Colder air from above is directed to air-condition a large part of Rabat. The tower also contains several power stations (wind and solar).
Another unusual object is a road that starts at the base of the tower. It is a tunnel slanting downward and offshore to an underwater city — a recreational and medical facility. Anyone can visit it and relax after a long, difficult day.
