Shanghai 2050

Cities are covered with multifunctional skyscrapers, each of which is a full-fledged settlement. On some floors factories operate, on others offices are situated, there is a room for shops, entertainment centers, and educational institutions - all in addition to residential areas. People can lead a full life for years without ever leaving the building.

Dominic N Knecht This seems to be way into the future. The next generation coming up is so dumb and lazy that it seems to be very unlikely that this will happen. 19 Apr 2019
Alice Yang I agree with everything except people would leave the building 12 Apr 2019
Smuckers Seems great but a little un-realistic 15 Feb 2019
Nadine Ayman Moharram Sad but possible. 06 Feb 2019
DJ DRAGON I agree with all of that although the buildings would have to be quite wide. This would require hundreds of feet of foundation and the pollution in the air - especially in China - would be a major factor in building such massive structures. They would wear down a lot easier because of the weight put on the foundation. Storms strong enough would kill hundreds of people that were in the building. 06 Feb 2019
Luís Vitoriano Blade Runner-type world... 06 Feb 2019
Neil Gupta All good except the last sentence. No one in 2050 will live their whole lives within a single building. 06 Feb 2019
Braden Currah Absolutely love the artwork, but I believe that we should strive for increased travel, not permanent fixture. 06 Feb 2019
