RoboCop

Patrolling disadvantaged areas, policing at football matches and other hazardous police duties are delegated to robots. Mechanical policemen, resembling people, are able to recognise speech and engage in dialogue, work in groups, if necessary, and even have weapons at their disposal - though non-lethal: just tasers. But even with such ammunition RoboCop would be very dangerous should it fall into the wrong hands, so a special emphasis is placed on its anti-hacking software protection.

Bahri Erkam As we know from films, we will have two scenarios. Firstly, mechanical police will very successful because they won't die and can run very fast. That's why criminals can not escape the governments. Another scenario is that this robot has the software and this software can be hacked by bad men. In this point, we can not protect us. 22 Sep 2019
zzgero23 anti-hacking software protection...good luck with that... 06 Feb 2019
Kris Koniusz There is no way that i could robots can be cops acording to the 3 laws of robotics 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. That makes a terriblle cop when he can't harm a human even though he is a criminal and killed or may kill someone. Also people won't allow robots to be able to stop them or have any higher ground ( having a police license and same power will give hem high ground in some situations). 06 Feb 2019
Devin McLaughlin This reminds me of "The Day the Earth Stood Still", where they had robots that would vaporize people if they incited violence. 06 Feb 2019

silent1011 that would be cool but for that hacking thing and people may catch them and make there own robot and they might just control i hack stuff but ATM only so that might be hard for me 06 Feb 2019
Elliot Bergström Yea, would be way to easy to hack them and create more terror than peace. 06 Feb 2019
Patrick Harper Any door, no matter how many locks are on it, will always be easier to breach than a wall. No matter how many "anti-hacking software" you put in something like that, someone, somewhere will always be able to use it for nefarious reasons. Any country dumb enough to put their trust in non-human policing will quickly learn the depths of human malice. 06 Feb 2019
